Classical MileEnd Lysander - Show Champion in the fleece and halter

Classical MileEnd Alpacas

Classical MileEnd Lysander, show champion in the fleece and halter classes at the 2010 Stichting Show in Hapert won both disciplines again at the 2011 show in March for his owners Leo and Marieke van Merwijk of Alpacas of the Lowlands.

This year the show was heavily oversubscribed and as it is a one day event entries were capped at 200 giving the judge Tim Hey from the UK a very full day’s work. The show organisers John Peeters, Yvonne Verbeek and Margreet Joling are hoping that the 2012 show will be a two day event so that all who wish to enter can.

As we have come to expect the Stitching Alpaca Show was run very efficiently with an excellent take up of trade stands ranging from one heaving with great rounds of Dutch cheese to alpaca products from Europe, the UK and South America. At lunchtime there was an auction of stud services to raise money to fund the event and all the services sold well.
