Goat exhibitors - Royal Cornwall Show

Date Added: March 15, 2011 12:06:53 PM
Author: Royal Cornwall Show
Category: Shows

Goat exhibitors are expected to be thicker on the ground than usual at this year’s Royal Cornwall Show.

With news that there are to be back to back competitions on the Thursday and Friday this year, breeders from far and wide are expressing an interest and last year’s total of 77 individual animals is likely to be surpassed.

Interest is already coming in not only from Cornwall and Devon, but from Somerset, Kent and Wales.

Basically, the usual Royal Cornwall competition will happen on the Thursday and a second competition – the Kernow Dairy Show – will be staged on the Friday.

Staging back to back shows at major competitions is a growing trend around the country. It gives exhibitors the chance of double awards – but also offers the opportunity for those who end day one empty-handed to come away with a winner on day two.

On the Saturday there will be no competitions but the judging rings will be full of young kids, a feature that was such a hit with the public last year
