Description:

We started with six, we now handle thousands of chicks per year and keep two small laying flocks on the mountain. Our laying hens range outdoors in all weathers. We rear all the birds indoors upto 8 weeks of age then free range rear as the weather permits, confining them on sale days so they are easy to catch !!! Beware of cheaply 'cage reared' birds which dominate the market and do not make impulse purchases at shows, do your homework and buy direct from breeders or growers where the birds have not been moved to/from other premises bringing problems with them.

Bought four hens at 8 weeks old in January (Cuckoo, Blackrock, Leghorn & Sussex) excellent service from Chris and fantastic advice given for a first timer...All girls thriving looking really well. Spot on about the Leghorn as she is a really bossy exhibitionist First class seller and will definately buy more once I get bigger housing. Many thanks Chris, Adele & Neil A++++++++++++++

Great healthy birds. Purchased one of each variety last August 2011 at 6 weeks old. All survived the winter with no aditional help. All now laying plenty of eggs. Will return to buy more.
