Several of the breeds we keep are listed as endangered by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. We stock a variety of Large Fowl and Bantams including popular breeds in several colours. We also stock five varieties of Hybrid birds, also pure breed Turkeys, Geese, Tamworth and Middle White pigs. Photographs are birds from our own pens.

Chalk Hill Poultry is a first-rate establishment, where I have bought poultry on two occasions and have been delighted with the quality of the birds. Two years ago I bought a POL Speckledy from a group running in a large grass paddock, and recently I bought two 5-weeek-old chicks, a Buff Sussex and a Legbar, which are now 12 weeks old and growing beautifully. The birds all looked happy and well-cared-for, either in grass paddocks or in clean breeding pens of a good size. A wide range of beautiful purebreeds and rare breeds, bantams and L.F, are bred and reared on the farm. Endless, friendly help and advice is freely given by Nick and Alex. If and when i need more chickens I shall certainly return to Chalk Hill.

my parents live about 15 minutes away from chalk hill, although I myself reside in S.Wales, having visited chalk hill about 18 months ago for the first time I now try and get down there whenever possible and although not exclusively I do tend to use them for 95% of my birds (and for some of my neighbours too)... Nick has spent a lot of time since I have known him improving the place and in general making things a lot more presentable to the public, this includes new runs for the birds and a new on-site shop, although at times it must seem a bit like painting the forth bridge for him.... I suppose the thing that impressed me most with the birds was the fact that they have to be just right, i.e. marans must lay a dark egg, if they don't come up to Nicks high standards he refuses to breed from them - I also know he has stopped certain breeds but has also hunted down good bloodlines for others because of the afore mentioned.... always willing to help wherever possible, I can only commend & support him for what he is doing and also for his long term visions for the place / hobby, it is a work in progress but definitely worth a visit.
I also believe he is now doing educational classes for beginners.
