Poultry Housing

We tested what you could only call a budget poultry house. There are many companies offering cheap poultry housing, I would say it pays to go to the maximum of your budget rather than cutting corners on this main item.

The one we tested was priced, from £120.00 to a staggering £190.00 I believe imported from China,  the design I must admit was quite good. It should take you about 20 - 30 minutes to put together and is fairly simple to do. Despite the claims of up to 5-6 birds. Remember if you are looking to keep more than 2 medium sized birds this is not the house for you. Please be aware most people new to poultry think they will be happy with only 2 birds, then the bug sets in and before you know it you have a lot more.

Cleaning was fairly easy and the lift out sections let you clean in all the right places. It can be moved so that the chickens have fresh clean grass to eat. However no moving handles and very hard to grip on one end, within a short time the roof started to come away from the main body.

It's hard to see how the house would last longer than a few years.

I would say overall if you want to keep only 2 chickens and have a very limited budget then this might be an option, but shop around as the price difference can be quite a lot.
